Garmin releases a luxury smartwatch for people who exercise

Garmin has a robust wearable lineup that includes activity trackers, smartwatches, and even an analog watch with activity features. Now it's attempting to make a luxury smartwatch, and it's not exactly cheap. The Garmin Fenix Chronos is a watch designed for people who don't like to sit in front of computers all day that will start at $899.
The Fenix Chronos comes with standard activity features like step, calorie, and sleep trackers, as well as more advanced tracking for physical activities like biking, golf, and open-water swimming. The watch also features an omni-directional EXO antenna with GPS and GLONASS, an altimeter, compass, barometer, and heart rate monitor.
The watch can also be paired with your phone and receive notifications, as well as download apps from Garmin's Connect IQ store. The Fenix Chronos is easily one of the best-looking smartwatches designed for outdoor use. Its 1.2-inch display sapphire lens should hold up well in direct sunlight thanks to LED backlighting, as well as in the ocean or pool with a 10ATM (100m) water rating.
Garmin says the watch will last 25 hours in battery-saving mode, 13 hours with GPS enabled, or up to a week in smartwatch mode (presumably with most of the trackers turned off). The Garmin Fenix Chronos is available today in three different versions: steel casing with a leather band for $899; steel casing with a stainless steel band for $999; and titanium casing with a titanium band for $1,499.
